About the estimate

How the footing calculation works

Projometry assumes one cylindrical concrete footing for each post. Concrete volume is calculated from the entered footing diameter and depth.

The selected concrete waste allowance is added before converting the required volume into bag quantities.

Approximate bag yields used for planning are 0.30 cubic feet for a 40-pound bag, 0.45 cubic feet for a 60-pound bag, and 0.60 cubic feet for an 80-pound bag.

These calculations estimate material quantity only. Required footing dimensions vary with loads, soil, frost depth, deck geometry, and applicable building codes.
